What would be wrong with not knowing how to bind off? In the case of a scarf, it would be cool to use the needle you have knit it with as a scarf pin to secure it. This was tested this weekend while I was at the shop. It was fun to test the idea, and then I showed them how to bind off. I believe the more ideas, the better your creativity.

Hmmm. You might want to consider stitching the end shut somehow, in case the needle falls out... that could be tragic.
