Happy St. Patrick's Day

I am still looking for a sock pattern with four-leaf clovers in it. Maybe my next year I will have a pair knit to wear for St. Patrick's Day.

Just some trivia tidbits to share about the Day of Green:

Green is associated with Spring. The three-leafed shamrock is a traditional symbol because Saint Patrick used it to represent the Father, Son and Holy Spirit as one entity. The first time St. Patrick's Day was celebrated in America was 1737 in Boston.

Wearing green will bring you luck so go out and show your green today!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!

I'm wearing a green shirt, so I guess that I qualify.

Oh, and my (sadly not hand knit) socks have green stripes on them.

I actually did not know the fact about the shamrock representing the Trinity. Now I've gone and learned something...

I was listening to the news the other day and the gang was, luckily enough, in Ireland. They were preparing for the parade in the town they were in. Funny info thought that the parade idea for St. Pat's was created and started in USA not in Ireland. Used to be that the pubs were closed in Ireland and it was a very religious holiday not the green beer and rowdy folks holiday that it is now.

Thanks for the info though. I wore pale green but still didn't get pinched!
