Monsters have come to the blog. Some of you have asked about the monsters and if there is a pattern for them.

Well, not exactly a pattern, it is more like a recipe, or a concept, or guidelines, if you like.

The Birth of a Monster

Let's all say a resounding Happy Birthday, Elphabina! She was born today at 6:58 a.m. when her momma glued her feet on her, the last step in her creation.

She as incepted on April 1st at the Mystery Knit in Buena Vista, the first night of our knitting retreat.

She is absolutely adorable and her momma could not be prouder of her offspring.

Hairdresser to the Monsters

I have to introduce the genius behind the monsters' hairdos, my mother.

She assisted in the finish work of these lovelies. She is awesome, even if she avoided the camera. 

Mystery Knit Revealed

And it is MONSTER-OUS!

In preparation for my first hosting of a knitting retreat, I had the attendees bring leftovers of worsted weight and size 8US needles with them and, with the assistance of mom, we put together all the "toppings" to use as decoration of the knit monsters.

I think that everyone had a great time creating a little monster buddy over the weekend. I am waiting for some of the pictures from Sunday morning closing breakfast. I will post those when I receive them. For now, the monsters shown are the ones done as the mascots. I am still looking for a name for them. Please post a comment with your vote.
