Mindful Monday: Getting Caught Up
I spent my holiday Monday cleaning and sorting my stash and setting up some future projects.
Also I reviewed my UFO projects that need to be worked into the knitting schedule. I have a couple that I really want to finish this year so I can wear them.
Progress on the baby sweater that needs to be gifted next month is at the halfway mark. (more on this project when it can be photoed). It is fun to have an opportunity to knit for a future little one.
Progress on the gift hat for CatWithCats is past the halfway mark. I hope to have it done and blocked this week.
I found the jewelry hardware and beads to make the Soutache necklace (from the Creative Knitting magazine last month) and bracelet that I want to test out of some leftover sock yarn when I have the time.
And, while I was waiting for the folks to stop by, I started a headband called Poems Easy Headband from the 101 Designer One-Skein Wonders. I used up some leftovers in brown and purple, and ended up with three headbands by the end of the day. They are fast and easy and fun to wear.
All in all, it was a great way to spend a holiday Monday. I hope everyone is grateful for the four-day week ahead~!

Think Spring - Green!
Today I decided that while I was teaching I should cast on and test a neck scarf I have had on hold for a while. It is the Posh Neck Scarf by Classic Elite.
I cast it on with Red Heart Shimmer in the lime green color - this looked like spring to me.
It is knit just like the pattern calls for and it turned out great. It was done in a few hours. It is a great neck scarf and makes a good headband as well. I plan to make a few of these for gifts this year.

Finished: Not a Moment Too Soon
The Rikke Hat is complete. I did make some adjustments to get the size I wanted. You can find that information at my Ravelry project page found here.
Today we had one of those "ocean wave wash up against the mountain" weather systems that created super cold on the Front Range with fog, freezing rain/drizzle/snow, while the upper elevations were sitting in the sun with ice-frosted trees. Beautiful!
I hope everyone is enjoying their foray into February~!

Saturday Fun
After a brief snow in Friday, the real fun for my weekend started on Saturday with the delivery and installation of my new TV system. I have offered before and after pics for your pleasure. Now I have great movie viewing and can stream my Netflix. Lots of entertainment to knit by. If you need me, you know where I will be.
While I waited for the delivery I got the Pebble Hat back to where I had been before I realized it was too small. It is knitting up beautifully in the Dragonberry colorway by Dragonfly Fibers in Dragon Sock. I think it will be well received when it is finished. I ordered a head form so I can block hats. It should be here next week. That will make it so much easier to block and photo the hats I am doing.
